GUIDING THE LOVER IN MY CHILD
This new territory of teaching my child about love, self love, and sharing love with others is an unknown territory. In my traditional filipino household, there was no shared wisdom and talks of this in any kind. Even with all of efforts to use parental controls with technology it is bound to happen that a child will encounter things that may not be suitable for his comprehension at his age. So I look to resources and podcasts that help guide me in starting a conversation with my son.
A great tip we learned from the How Not To F*ck Up Our Kids Too Bad is to have a sign on the door to give space and privacy for self discovery and touch. I also am every so grateful fo this book that gives multiple perspectives to all the topics surrounding love and sex, Sex is a Funny Word by Cory SIlvergberg + Fiona Smyth.
I believe every parent who never had a talk about sex and love growing up could use this book to use as a tool to start the conversation they never had.
