SHIFTING TIME AND SPACE DIMENSIONS
In the past as a mother, entrepreneur, friend and lover the most common phrase that would come out of my mouth was, “I have a million things to do.” This was all under the tone of not having enough time and space to enjoy the little things in life and truly spoke in the voice of stress and carrying the weight of all that needed to be done. Recently, I intentionally shifted my infamous line to “I have all the time and space to do all the things I want and need to do.” Right away I saw a powerful shift with changing the words I chose to speak. It altered my perception of time and space as if I entered another dimension that on the lacking side did not seem even possible.
I am a big believer in the power of words and have seen the results in the past but applying this to time and space had more impact that I could have imagined. I started to feel less pressure in trying to get it all done and if I wanted something done it was in appreciation because it didn’t come from a lack of time and space. A place which can automatically create an air of obligation or burden and trigger a stress response in the mind and body.
In this new time and space dimension, I am able to reconnect to enjoy thing’s that bring more nourishment and clarity to life. Finding time to read, learn and explore about different perspectives has been enlightening. Short, easy reads are helpful for in between moments and especially this pocket book, “How to Love” by Thich Nhat Hanh that guides in cultivating self love to create more space in the sharing of love. Finding new music is continuously a spirit uplifter for me. Especially playlists that have a continuous rotation of new dope tracks where I save time in searching such as, POLLEN, on Spotify. Also there is no better way to support this idea of more space and time than feeling that viscerally in the body. The most delicious class for this is the latest creation by Misfits Studio Get Lengthened, dreamy slow-moving release and expansion. It was a full body moving meditation.
The best part in all this new found time and space is the openness and commitment to having more FUN in more moments in my day. To look at a new day as one that is filled with surprise and delight versus an endless to do list. Because isn’t that what life is all about? To be enjoyed and appreciated to the fullest?
